Kleine Schoone Uitzicht lies in the upper Breede river valley, about 135 kms from Cape town. It is surrounded by mountains and big farms with vineyards and fruit orchards, but I do not farm commercially. This is a place to grow the trees and plants I love and as much of my food as possible. It was an old Hanepoot vineyard, but part of the land now lies fallow and the natural vegetation is returning.
My name is Yvonne and I have been gardening here for 15 years, but only came to live here three years ago when I retired. I have an old tumbled down Cape cottage where birds flit in and out and a stoep where I wish I had more time to sit and drink coffee.
Life at Kleine Schoone Uitzicht, which means small beautiful view, is what I hope to tell you about. I will also be sharing some travel experiences.
